Extremely Flexible Generation of

To create a new song with Onyx, simply type in or select chords
from the list (up to 100 chord types and 1/8 note steps) or load in a
premade progression. Then, choose one or more Onyx Orchestrator Styles
(OOStyle) you wish to use in your song, and press Play. You can use as
many OOStyles per song as you want - they will all sound perfect in every
Chord, Key, Scale and Meter. You can even drag an instrument/clip of one
OOStyle to the zone of another OOStyle. When placed into a song, an
OOStyle becomes an independent object which will be morphed according to
your song's chord progression. For each OOStyle track you create you can
easily change the positions of initial pattern measures and fill inserts,
alter Chord/Scale steps, Patch, Bank, Velocity, Pan, and more. And when
you have your arrangement the way you want it, Onyx will breathe life into
plain MIDI with its real-time MIDI FX chain, including the Data Humanizing
Modeler. |

Easily Convert a MIDI File to an

An OOStyle containing up to 10 tracks and 16 measure length can be easily
created from any MIDI file or from your own real-time MIDI recordings,
even if the MIDI data has Meter and Tempo changes, complex rhythmic and
harmony structure, etc. Every style created with Onyx preserves ALL of
your performance nuances - Velocity accents, Pitch Bend, Expression, Pan
and other controllers, as well as Tempo and Meter changes. Using the
program's Style Maker Assistant you can create music without editing any
of the source MIDI data. All notes can be morphed according to your song's
harmony and meter, even if the initial pattern contains a simple harmony
like a single Am chord with whole notes, of if your progression includes
frequent chord changes (such as a jazz ditty) with 1/8 note steps. In
short, Onyx creates "More Music Out of Music" thanks to its Musical Object
Morphing technology!

clothing; a wrapper for a melody. It can change the character of a tune in

reason, the Onyx Harmonizer can automatically recognize the Key and Scale
of any melody (and any key changes), and find several appropriate high
quality chord progressions for your melody in a number of different styles

and their inversions sorted into convenient groups: Associated Chords,
Inversions of Associated Chords, Limited set Chords, Any Chords. This
system also automatically indicates the appropriateness of an inserted
chord to the current Key/Scale while taking on five basic scale tonalities
- Minor, Major, Blues Minor, Blues Major, Gypsy (up to 14 internal scales
can be specified using an ADVANCED scale setting). If you want to use
simple chords - it's easy! If you want to use complex jazz or classical
chords - no problem! If you want to use hip, modern, alternative, even
crazy chords like C,C#,D and F#,G,G# notes sounding together - then this
